Why did our Treat campaign work?

This post was last edited by Alex Cohen, on March 8, 2010 @ 10:54 am

After one busy week we’ve closed our Treat offer. There’s only so much we can do for free and even we were surprised with the results.

I won’t divulge here how many people signed up to the treat (contact me if You’re interested) but more than 1 in 4 people who visited our Treat website during the campaign signed up.

So why did it work and what can we and you learn from it? Here are the 3 main reasons:

  • At the heart of the campaign was a genuinely great offer. A tangible piece of marketing that a customer could use in their campaigns.
  • We advertised in multiple channels. We marketed the campaign via email, tele-marketing, business forums and Twitter. This meant we could reach more people and also stand the chance of people seeing it advertised in more than one place.
  • Happy customers promoted the campaign for us. The best form of marketing is word of mouth. We didn’t ask for any testimonials but customers who received the Treat were so impressed that they posted comments on forums and Twitter about the experience they had received, encouraging even more people to sign up for and claim their Treat.

So, it’s back to creating Treats now…we’ll still leave one Treat available though for readers of this blog…if You’re interested in a free one hour consultation to see how you can create a campaign like this one (or discuss anything else marketing related) give us a call or send us an email quoting this blog.
